FAQs from Smyths Toys
Do I get free delivery at Smyths Toys?
Standard delivery is free when your order reaches the qualifying spend threshold. Below that, a delivery charge applies based on your order value. All trampoline orders qualify for free delivery regardless of how much you spend. Alternatively, Click and Collect from your nearest store is always free and can be ready in as little as two hours.
Who qualifies for the Smyths Toys student discount?
Any student who can verify their enrolment through Student Beans qualifies. Once verified, you can access up to 50% off sitewide, up to 20% off selected LEGO sets, and up to 49% off clearance items. You'll need a valid student email address or proof of enrolment to complete verification.
Can I use a discount code alongside an existing sale price?
Generally, no. Most Smyths Toys promotions and codes apply individually rather than on top of one another. Sale and clearance prices are typically already discounted, and codes may exclude those lines. Always check the terms attached to your specific code at checkout to confirm which products it covers.
Is a Smyths toys coupon valid on all products?
Not always. Many codes and promotions are category-specific. For example, a student discount may apply to selected LEGO sets but not every product on the site. Clearance items are sometimes excluded from standard codes too. Check the terms of your specific offer before adding items to your basket.
Are the codes on vouchercloud tested before they go live?
vouchercloud checks codes before publishing them to make sure they're active and working. That said, codes can expire or reach usage limits quickly, especially around busy sale periods. If a code isn't applying at checkout, it's worth trying the next listed option or checking for a current sale that doesn't require a code.
What is the return policy at Smyths Toys?
Smyths Toys gives you 28 days to return unwanted items in resalable condition. For faulty products, you're entitled to a full refund or exchange within 30 days of purchase. Between 30 days and six months, a repair or replacement is offered. It's a straightforward policy, so keep your receipt or order confirmation handy.
Does Smyths Toys offer Click and Collect?
Click and Collect is free and available from Smyths Toys stores across Ireland. Orders can be ready in as little as two hours, which makes it a practical option when you need something quickly or want to avoid delivery costs on a smaller order.
Does Smyths Toys have a Gift Finder tool?
It does. The Gift Finder on the Smyths Toys website lets you filter by the child's age and your budget to get tailored product suggestions. It's free to use and genuinely helpful when you're not sure where to start, particularly useful for shopping for children you don't see regularly.
What multi-buy deals are available at Smyths Toys?
Smyths Toys currently runs a 3 for 2 offer on board games and selected books. Pick three qualifying items and the cheapest one is free, effectively around 33% off the lowest-priced product in your selection. It's a solid option when you're buying multiple gifts at once.
Does Smyths Toys sell gift cards?
Smyths Toys gift cards are available from a low starting value, making them a flexible gift option for any age. They can be purchased in-store or through the online store. If you're unsure what to buy, pairing a gift card with the Gift Finder tool is a handy combination.
Real Savings Across Every Category at Smyths Toys
Smyths Toys punches well above its weight when it comes to value. Whether you're shopping for a birthday, stocking up on LEGO, or kitting out the garden for summer, there are genuine discounts to be found across most of the major categories. Not just the odd token markdown, either. From clearance bargains to student-exclusive rates and multi-buy offers on board games, the savings here are concrete and worth planning around.
On this vouchercloud page, you'll find the best current Smyths Toys deals rounded up in one place, including any active smyths promo code offers and the latest sale categories worth checking.
How to Apply Your Smyths Voucher Code at Checkout
Got a smyths discount code ready to go? Here's how to use it on the Smyths Toys website.
-
Add your chosen items to your basket and proceed to checkout.
-
Look for the field labelled 'promo code' or 'voucher code' on the payment page. It's usually displayed beneath your order summary.
-
Type or paste your code into the field and click 'Apply'.
-
Check that your order total has updated before completing payment. The saving should appear as a line item.
-
If the code isn't working, check the minimum spend requirement for your basket, confirm the code applies to the items you've selected (some codes exclude sale or clearance lines), and make sure only one code is entered. Smyths Toys typically accepts one code per order.
Save Up to 50% in the Clearance Sale
The Smyths Toys clearance sale is where the biggest discounts live. Savings of up to 50% are available across a wide range of products, from Barbie items and football accessories to selected toys across multiple categories. These aren't end-of-line oddities either. Clearance regularly includes well-known brands and popular product lines.
A few categories worth checking specifically:
-
Barbie items: up to 50% off
-
Football accessories: up to 50% off
-
Selected toys: up to 20% off
-
Bouncy castles: 20% off
The clearance section on the official site is updated regularly, so it's worth revisiting even if you've browsed recently. Stock and discounts do change.
Students Save Up to 50% via Student Beans
Smyths Toys runs one of the more generous student discount programmes you'll find at a toy retailer. Once you've verified your student status through Student Beans, you can access:
-
Up to 50% off across the site
-
Up to 20% off selected LEGO sets
-
Up to 49% off clearance items
The verification process through Student Beans is straightforward. You'll need a valid student email address or enrolment proof. Once confirmed, the discount is applied via the Student Beans platform before you complete your purchase. It's particularly useful around gift-giving seasons when you're buying for younger siblings or family.
Verify your student status through Student Beans before you shop to make sure the discount is active on your account.
Up to 25% Off Selected LEGO Sets
LEGO fans are well catered for at Smyths Toys. Selected sets are available at up to 25% off, and Smyths is known for pricing LEGO 10–15% below many other retailers as standard. So even outside of a specific promotion, you're often getting a better deal here than elsewhere.
If you're a student, the Student Beans discount can bring LEGO savings up to 20% off on selected sets, on top of already competitive shelf prices. Worth checking the LEGO section directly on the Smyths Toys website to see what's currently reduced.
Up to 20% Off Baby Items, Bikes, and Scooters
Several key categories carry regular discounts that make Smyths Toys a practical first stop for bigger purchases.
-
Baby items: up to 20% off selected products, including items like the VTech VM4263 night light video baby monitor (14% off) and the Playgro Clip Clop Activity Rattle (25% off)
-
Selected bikes and scooters: up to 20% off
-
Gaming console bundles: up to 10% off
The baby category in particular covers a broad range, from monitors and rattles through to nursery essentials. If you're shopping for a newborn or toddler, it's a section worth browsing carefully rather than heading straight to checkout.
Check the baby and bikes sections on the online store to see the current selection of reduced items.
3 for 2 on Board Games and Selected Books
Smyths Toys runs a 3 for 2 multi-buy offer on board games and selected books. It's a genuinely useful deal if you're buying gifts or stocking up for family game nights. The saving works out to roughly 33% off the cheapest item in your trio, which adds up quickly if you're buying several titles at once.
This kind of offer is ideal for birthday hauls or Christmas shopping, where you're buying multiple items anyway. Pick three qualifying products and the lowest-priced one is free. Simple as that.
Browse the board games section on the Smyths Toys website to see which titles are currently included in the offer.
Get Up to 15% Off by Signing Up to the Newsletter
Smyths Toys rewards newsletter subscribers with early access to sales and, on occasion, exclusive discount codes worth up to 15% off. It's a simple way to stay ahead of the big seasonal sales. Smyths typically runs major events in January, at Easter, over summer, on Black Friday, and around Boxing Day.
Signing up also means you're first to hear about new clearance lines and limited-time category promotions before they're widely advertised. If you're planning a bigger purchase, getting the newsletter ahead of a sale window can make a real difference to what you pay.
Sign up through the Smyths Toys website and keep an eye on your inbox before the next big sale period.
Free Click and Collect, Free Delivery, and a 28-Day Return Window
Free Click and Collect in as Little as Two Hours
Smyths Toys offers a free Click and Collect service from their stores, with orders ready in as little as two hours. It's a handy option if you need something quickly or want to avoid delivery costs on a smaller order.
Free Standard Delivery on Orders Over a Threshold
Standard delivery is free when your order reaches the qualifying threshold. Below that, a delivery charge applies depending on your order value. All trampoline orders qualify for free delivery regardless of spend, which is worth knowing if you're buying outdoor equipment. Check the Smyths Toys website for the current delivery rates applicable to your order.
28-Day Returns on Unwanted Items
If something isn't right, Smyths Toys gives you 28 days to return unwanted items in resalable condition. For faulty products, you're covered for a full refund or exchange within 30 days, and repair or replacement is available from 30 days up to six months after purchase. A solid policy for higher-value items like gaming console bundles or baby monitors.
Gift Cards and the Gift Finder Tool
If you're not sure what to buy, Smyths Toys has two useful tools. Gift cards are available from a low starting value, making them a flexible option when you want to give someone the choice. The Gift Finder tool on the Smyths Toys website lets you filter by child age and price range to get tailored product suggestions. Genuinely useful when you're shopping for a child you don't see often.
Gift cards can be bought in-store or online, and the Gift Finder is free to use on the Smyths platform. Worth a few minutes of your time before committing to a purchase.
